Congratulations on your purchase of Math Blaster: In Search of Spot
version 1.2C! To supply you with up-to-the-minute information, we
have included the following comments.

VIDEO

Some Windows video drivers may cause erratic behavior under certain
conditions. Symptoms include stray pink or black lines on-screen or an
Application Error or Exception Error message. If you experience any of
the above symptoms or any other sort of unusual screen activity, switch
to the standard VGA mode from the Program Manager or other available
drivers supplied with your video card. You can also use a Windows SVGA
driver available through Microsoft.

To change your video mode:

o	From the Program Manager, double-click the Windows Setup icon
	in the Main group.
o	From the Options menu on the Windows Setup box, select Change
	System Settings.
o	Click the arrow to the far right of the word "Display".
You will see a list of video drivers.
o	Scroll through the list until you see the word "VGA".
o	Double-click "VGA" and follow any screen prompts.
Windows may ask you to insert a disk(s) that came with
	your original Windows package.

For more information about video drivers, please consult your Windows
documentation.

SAVING EDITOR FILES

If you are running Math Blaster: In Search of Spot from the CD-ROM
drive, be sure when creating Editor files, you are saving them to
your MBWINCD directory on your hard drive.

IF YOU RECEIVE A MESSAGE INDICATING THAT FILES CANNOT BE FOUND

If you installed Math Blaster: In Search of Spot to your hard drive,
make sure the files are still in the directory to which they were
installed. An MB4.INI file is created in your Windows directory that
points to the installed location. The program uses this information
to find all necessary files.

IF YOU RECEIVE AN INSUFFICIENT MEMORY MESSAGE OR PRINTING DOES NOT PRINT
THE WHOLE CERTIFICATE

Increase the size of Window's virtual memory. Also, set virtual memory
from temporary to permanent. For more detailed information about virtual
memory, consult your Windows documentation.

IF THE PROGRAM IS VERY SLOW

If Math Blaster: In Search of Spot is running slowly on your machine,
follow the steps above to change your video mode to standard VGA or to
another available resolution.

Turn off the transition scenes from the Options menu. Transition
scenes include the story introduction, ending, and animated
sequences between activities during a Mission.

More tips are available in the Troubleshooting section in the manual.

PC TOOLS VSAFE and MS-DOS VSAFE

PC Tools VSAFE or MS-DOS 6.0 VSAFE may interfere with the install process.
To disable VSAFE before installing Math Blaster: In Search of Spot, exit
Windows and type VSAFE /U, then press Enter.

Restart your computer after installation of Math Blaster: In Search of Spot
to turn PC Tools VSAFE or MS-DOS VSAFE back on.

RECORD KEEPING

If the system font currently selected does not display records accurately
on-screen, select a smaller system font from the Options menu, when viewing
records within Math Blaster: In Search of Spot.
