*** MULTIPLAYER WARNING ***

This patch is not compatible with older patches (official nor unofficial). To ensure multiplayer works for everyone,
all players should use the latest version of AiO patch. Because this is probably the coolest collection of fixes for
Drakan to date gathered in one package, I can't find a good excuse to not use it :-)

==  1. About  ==
================

This is All-in-One unofficial patch for Drakan, combining all unofficial patches to date and adding some additional
improvements, most notably better widescreen support and ability to play game over internet in cases where it wasn't
previously possible due to NAT (Network Address Translation) devices (eg. routers) in the way.

Included patches/fixes:

-Enhanced implementation of original 445++ Patch:
	-Fixed black menu background bug.
	-Prevented crash after selecting difficulty or pressing ESC while on the difficulty selection screen.
	-Fixed crash after exiting Alwarren.

-445SP1 Patch
	-Removed special camera rotation mode from 'left' special combo (left-forward-attack).
	-Removed special camera rotation mode from 'back' special combo (forward-backward-attack).
	-Added 2 active 'hitting intervals' for 'left' special attack.
	-Removed 'stuck in block' bug.

-10th Anniversary Mod (non-graphics related stuff)
	-Increased amount of allocated memory for one of rendering routines (increases FPS a bit in more complex levels).
	-Removed part of problematic code that has to do with lens-flare effects that causes crash during gameplay when
	 there are lots of lightning effects, but you should still disable Lens Flare Effects under Graphics options, they
	 cause quite significant lag spikes.

-FOV (field of view) crash fix
	-Level of detail (LOD) value is set to zero -> fully detailed in-game objects regardless of camera distance, small performance decrease,
	 original LOD feature wasn't exactly doing miracles neither when it comes to excessive polygon counts in certain player-created levels.
	-This is also an easy fix for a crash which occurs when 'fov' command is used to set higher FOV than 93 due to original LOD calculation being
	 tied to FOV.

-Widescreen support
	-Added code that adjusts FOV based on your selected resolution's aspect ratio, so you see more things at once and actually utilize extra
	 horizontal space if you have a wide monitor.

-Session creation failed error will no longer occur if running server on anything newer than Windows XP or under Wine (Linux) or when setting up
 listen server AFTER playing a multiplayer game on someone else's server (assuming ports server intends to use aren't in use by some other program).

-Fixed crash that occurs if Giant grabs you just after your death. Note that I only added an extra safeguard that prevents the crash, but doesn't
 fix the actual bug. Should the situation occur, the screen won't start fading to black like it normally would and the game won't end, but you can
 reload the last save and move on like nothing happened.

-Fixed ice effect not showing up on your dragon after being frozen by an enemy and game crashing the moment he is supposed to blow into pieces.
 This bug only occurred when bump mapping was enabled.

-Increased Max Fog Distance that can be set under Graphics options up to 200% (same as 'foghack' cheat).

-Dedicated server stores graphics settings (the ones in Windows registry) separately. Useful because dedicated server window size is defined by game
 resolution setting and can't be resized.

-Minimizing the game when in fullscreen mode and connected to online game will no longer cause disconnect after 30 seconds. Same applies to minimized
 non-dedicated server, clients will no longer drop.

-NAT fix - server has been patched so that it no longer responds back to the client using the UDP port that was used on the client side to establish connection,
 but rather the port visible on the server side as the originating source of the first packet sent by client.

-Added additional code to properly handle meaningless FD_READ messages - no more crashing when random IP addresses are present in servers.txt

-Added some common resolutions for use in windowed mode.

-Fixed crash due to stack buffer overrun that occurs when entering Graphics menu on machines whose graphics hardware exposes a lot of available resolutions.

-Default value of MasterServerList variable in Drakan.cfg has been changed to "master2.qtracker.com:27900" since GameSpy is gone.

Included files:

	-Disable_Drakan_Compat_Fixes.reg - optional registry fix allowing you to use Alt+Tab combination while playing Drakan, Windows blocks it by default while this game is running

	-Drakan.exe and Dragon.rfl - patched game binary files

==  2. Installation  ==
=======================

First of all, make sure you have fresh installation of Drakan patched to 445 and admin rights in Windows, then follow these instruction:

1. Make a backup of original Drakan.exe and Dragon.rfl files, located in your Drakan installation directory.
2. If you want to use this patch with 10th Anniversary Mod, install it now.
3. Extract patched Drakan.exe and Dragon.rfl from this archive to your Drakan installation directory.
4. Apply Disable_Drakan_Compat_Fixes.reg registry fix if you want alt-tabbing to work.
5. If you installed 10th Anniversary Mod in the first step, go read Notes for 10th Anniversary Mod users section.
6. You're done!

==  3. Notes for 10th Anniversary Mod users  ==
===============================================

One thing you should know about 10th Anniversary mod is that it consists of 2 parts. First are the patched Drakan binary files,
intended to solve bugs with the game itself. Second part are DirectX hacks, hooking the old DirectX 6.1 interfaces and redirecting
them to DirectX 9 which is useful for implementation of additional graphical special effects.
These are applied only if you use 10th Anniversary Launcher.

Patched binary files that come with the mod are obsolete and also break multiplayer functionality due to improper implementation of
Session creation failed fix. Additionally, mod installer replaces language files with english ones so if you have non-english version
of Drakan, texts will appear after installation. It might be possible to avoid unwanted translation by extracting mod files from installer
manually and skip all .odb files. Unless english files are neccessary for the thing to work, I don't know.

You can use 10th Anniversary Launcher in combination with this patch, but be aware of the following issues:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-Black menu background bug will be back.
-Rendering bugs (I'm guessing it's got to do with Bump Mapping)
	-Diagonal lines all over the place
	-Occassional FPS drops or generally low performance in some cases
	-Arokh is invisible, except for his wings.

There is nothing I can do about those issues, it's up to the mod's authors to fix them.
